How this estimate works
- Monthly surplus equals total income minus total expenses. Annual surplus is this amount × 12. Surplus is money available before savings commitments, not money already deposited.
- The remaining goal is the target minus current goal savings, with a minimum of zero. Divide it by your target months to find the required monthly contribution, displayed rounded up to the next sen.
- Months to goal is the remaining amount divided by your planned monthly contribution, rounded up to a whole month. With no contribution, there is no estimated completion date unless the goal is already reached.
- Cash after contributions subtracts your goal contribution and other savings commitments from the monthly surplus. A negative amount means these contributions do not fit the entered budget.
- Projected savings equal current goal savings plus the planned contribution × months. Contributions continue for the full period, even after the target is reached. No interest, inflation, withdrawals, tax or EPF calculation is included.
